It doesn’t really matter where in the world an emergency strikes, the victims will always include many children. During the earthquake in Kashmir, hundreds of school buildings collapsed on top of tens of thousands of innocent pupils, during the South East Asian Tsunami, it was the children who could not hold on for long periods of time until help arrived, during the bombings in Lebanon and Gaza many schools were hit and thousands of children fell victim to the aggression.
Emergency aid in Swat, Pakistan
We cannot help everyone, so we focus on the most vulnerable. Our aid is aimed at bringing normality back to the lives of these traumatised children.
We ensure they have their basic needs catered for and then go to work to ensure a sustainable future for them. We work in areas of health, such as post-traumatic stress syndrome, education and livelihood programmes.
It is these innocent victims who can fall foul to predators and child labour camps so we ensure their safety through our community-based partners on the ground.
Please help us to be prepared for emergencies as they strike.
Donate towards our child emergency fund which allows us to respond urgently when the need is greatest.
